The Schoolwide Enrichment Program serves every student in the school by bringing quality enrichment programs into the school. Better Basics believes that all children, especially those "at-risk" for school failure, need enriching and stimulating learning experiences to enhance their school curriculum. Schoolwide Enrichment brings schools, communities, and businesses together in a plan to enhance not only the curriculum but also the joy of learning for the students. It brings excitement to the classroom, fires the imagination of the students, and helps them see the relevancy of what they are studying. Students are encouraged to participate, ask questions and experience the subject matter being shared. This program brings the field trip to the school enabling each child to take advantage of the outside world. A Program Opportunities Book is provided for teachers to select programs geared to their students needs. Many of these programs meet SAT 10 objectives and State Curriculum guidelines. Other school enrichment programs and/or activities not listed may be used (i.e. admission and transportation for field trips, school enrichment projects, and classroom programs and/or projects).

Schools should be enjoyable places where students "participate in and prepare for intelligent, creative, and effective living." (Renzulli, UConn.)
